The founder of the factory is Wilhelm Platz, who as early as 1840 opened a workshop for fire engines and other products. In 1890 when the factory was under the management of his son (Philipp Platz) the name Badenia was given.
The factory grew and developed and had about 1,100 employees in 1918.
After World War II, sales decreased until the factory closed in 1954
