The British Weighing Station
The British built this weighing platform as part of the port construction project. It was used to weigh trucks on their way into and out of the port. At the time of construction, truck weighed a maximum of 15,000 kg, the amount marked on the cast iron platform. The diamond shape of the weighing station inspired the design of the flagstones in the renewed port. Click for a larger image
