The manufacturer’s covers are made of metal and are circular , square , or rectangular .
Circular covers intended for sidewalks are often surrounded by a square frame to facilitate paving work (these are actually all the square covers appearing on the site).

No colored covers by this manufacturer were found on the site, but several golden covers were found .
City emblems appear on some of the manufacturer’s covers (mainly due to the requirements of local authorities)

On many covers, the purpose of the cover is not indicated. In other cases: drainage covers are identified by drainage slots ; water covers bear the word “water” (“Vatten” on covers from Sweden) or the letter V ; sewer covers bear the letter A (“avløpsvann” - wastewater) ; and FV (“fjernvarme” - district heating) appears on covers intended for heating or gas systems.

The year of manufacture usually does not appear on the cover.

Several covers are noteworthy: some feature famous buildings , works of art , and a cover dedicated to the Norwegian rock band “THE DOGS” .

Standards
The European standard EN124 and its associated load classes appear on many covers, with the most common load classes being B125 and D400 .
Many covers also bear the Norwegian NS standard mark .

Typical Covers
A typical cover features circles surrounding a common center and separated by rays extending outward from the center, creating rings of quadrilateral shapes . Another type consists of three semicircles touching one another (in a form reminiscent of gears) .
Another common type is a cover containing circles made of plus signs, usually with an emblem in the center .
