A factory (Queen Marienhütte) named after Maria Anna, Princess of Bavaria was after 50 years of founding the largest foundry in Saxony with close to 2000 employees. After World War II at the time when it was East Germany, the factory operated under the name Wismut AG, and today it belongs to the ZSB GmbH group.
